Roseville Christian Church Doctrine

Baptism -Baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It signifies
new birth, a cleansing from sin, the individual’s response to God’s grace, and acceptance
into the faith community. We believe a Christian should believe, repent, confess, be
baptized and live a Christian life. Baptism by immersion is essential for salvation. Baptism is
performed at the age of accountability.

Bible – We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and recognize 66 books in the
canon.

Church – We believe that every member is a minister in the church. The mission of the
church is to glorify God by finding, keeping, and building people for Jesus Christ.
Communion – Open communion, where all Christians are welcome, was one of the
reasons for the founding of the Christian Church. In the Lord’s Supper, “the living Christ is
met and received in the sharing of the bread and the cup, representative of the body and
blood of Jesus.” We practice this weekly. The Lord’s Table is the central focus of worship in
the Christian Church.

Heaven, Hell – We believe in a literal Heaven and Hell and that they are eternal.
Jesus Christ – The Disciples’ Confession states that “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the
living God … Lord and Savior of the world.” We believe he is part of the trinity and was in
the beginning. He is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin birth and lived a
sinless life. He died on the cross, rose again, and will come back for the church someday.

Missions – We believe missions are important and support local and international missions.
Tithes – We believe tithing is important and encourage tithing of time, resources, and money.
Unity among Congregations -We believe unity among congregations is important and
work with the other congregations in town on community events.
